Rare Earth News
Several rare earth elements show massive potential
In a recent interview with The Critical Metals Report, independent investor Jason Burack spoke with commodities trader Kevein Kerr about rare earth elements, which have become essential in developing improvements for a wide range of devices, from smart phones to clean energy technology.
According to The Critical Metals Report, rare earth element (REE) space is the most complicated in the mining sector, as the process is complex and needs high amounts of infrastructure. However, investing in rare earth is a wise decision.
"REEs have an amazing amount of innovation upside right now." Burack stated. "Because of the innovations coming down the pipeline, the market has the potential to exhibit an annual double-digit growth rate."
Burack added that REEs offer far more upside than other commodity sectors, and display "amazing" growth opportunities for investors due to their ubiquitous presence in up-and-coming technologies.
Tantalum, for example, is a highly ductile metal resistant to corrosion, and when used as tantalum metal powder, enables the production of many different electrical components, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Several REEs, including tantalum, have recently been mined in parts of North America, including British Columbia and Quebec, with operations expected to increase in the near future.
